THE FABRIC

All pockets are fashioned and sewn in a French workshop, the fabrics used are noble and refined some of which are more fragile than others.

Velvet:

Velvet is a fabric whose face forms a surface of cut hairs, like furry.

The Genoese velvet:

It designates a velvet all in silk whose velvety designs are on a satin background.

Chiseled velvet:

It is called chiseled when the compression between two rollers, one of which is raised, forms flattened bottoms.

Jacquard velvet:

Woven in a traditional way. The loom is equipped with blades that create velvet hair by cutting the loops in sequence. The hair is in cupro, a thread as bright as silk.

The pattern, on a cotton background, is inspired by the Persian tradition and presents the faded outlines characteristic of ikats.

Damask:

Damask is a fabric of wool or silk, with flowers or large drawings in relief, where satin and taffeta are mixed together. This fabric is recognizable by its matt and satin effects formed by motifs often made in the same tones and hues.

In this double-faced fabric, the reverse has the same design as the face, but with colors and weavings opposed and reversed. What is satin on one side is dull on the other and vice versa.

Lampas:

A lampas is a silk fabric with large drawings of a color different from that of the background. It is distinguished from damask by its satin background that makes it more shimmering. The effects of this background, playing between the flowers or foliage of the drawing, produce effects of incomparable richness.

Brocatelle:

Brocatelle is a fabric that reproduces brocade (brocade is a fabric made of a silk warp and weft with additional gold or silver threads. It is a kind of rich lampas) but lighter, with small drawings and less rich than the latter. Gold and silver are excluded and silk only enters the brooch only.

The weft (thread) forms the bottoms and the chain (silk) forms the figures. The bottom shot is in linen thread.

Like the lampas, the brocatelle is made in tone on tone or in several colors woven or thrown.
